Additional Course Information

Course Overview

The Atlanta Complete Botox® Training program combines didactic lectures and hands-on training, supplying participants with a comprehensive education on aesthetic procedures.

The course first teaches you about botulinum toxin Type-A and how it's utilized for cosmetic treatments. When your training has concluded, you will also know the correct way to administer both basic and advanced Botox treatments and how to conduct other facial aesthetic procedures like dermal fillers.

Board-certified physicians lead all of our classes. These experts, leaders in their field and with their own practice, possess many years of experience when it comes to all things Botox. As part of your hands-on practice, they will supply step-by-step guidance as you treat facial rhytids on real volunteer patients. Once the supervising physicians have approved the Botox administrations, you will help patients with everything from glabellar lines to crow's feet.

By learning under the distinguished team at Empire Medical Training, you gain the ability and confidence to perform Botox, dermal fillers, and various other facial aesthetic procedures. Upon completion of the program, you also receive 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ hours.

Course Objectives

Attend our Atlanta area Complete Botox® Training program, and you will learn:

  • Basic facial anatomy and key Botox injection sites
  • The differences between botulinum toxin Type-A products (such as Botox®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau®). For those interested in getting the most from the course training, we have conveniently scheduled the Dermal Filler Training program in the afternoon. This course will teach Dermal Filler products (such as Restylane®, Juvederm®, and Radiesse®, Belotero®, and more)
  • Specific techniques and methods for injecting Botox procedures
  • The mechanism of action for each type of medication and formulation
  • How to identify ideal candidates for Botox treatments and exclude unsuitable candidates (such as those with medical contraindications)
  • How to properly and effectively inject botulinum toxin Type-A while reducing procedure risk and patient complications
  • The generally accepted protocols for botulinum toxin Type-A administration for both aesthetic and medical complaints
  • The proper guidelines for the patient acquisition and charting, including management of required paperwork like medical intake and informed consent forms
  • How to manage patient preferences and expectations before treatment
  • Post-treatment follow-up protocols and how to address and correct adverse events (complications)
  • How to manage long-term botulinum toxin Type-A patients and deliver enhanced patient care over the course of the relationship
  • How to market, promote and engage with your target demographic using a complete integrated marketing communications plan

Who the event is for?

Are you a healthcare practitioner? Do you work as a nurse, nurse practitioner, dentist, physician, or in another medical-related role? If you've answered 'yes', and you plan to offer aesthetic services to your patients, this event is for you.

This is particularly the case if you reside in Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Lawrenceville, Athens, Rome, Macon, or another Georgia area. However, we welcome participants from all across the country, and our host hotel's close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport makes traveling a breeze.

Your patients deserve the best. With our expert training, you can provide them with the finest and most effective cosmetic treatments.

Prerequisites

Before you can become certified in administering Botox® injections and acquire your 8-hour AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, you must complete all necessary prerequisite instructional materials. Furthermore, before the in-person portion of your training, you must successfully pass a knowledge-based test.

All pre-course materials and supplements are on EMT's state-of-the-art online portal. These materials cover important topics such as in-depth protocols and complication avoidance. For added convenience, videos also make up the prerequisite materials. Engaging, professionally shot, and viewable on all suitable devices, these videos offer an effective method to amplify your learning.

Is your schedule not flexible enough to complete the entire training weekend in person? An alternative route is to complete the training's didactic requirements via our live virtual program. You can then attend a future Atlanta hands-on course for a day, allowing you to gain your Botox and dermal filler certifications.

Color Training Manual & Videos

The EMT educational portal features a comprehensive color training manual that you need to review in full, along with videos. These supplements deliver essential information about Botox treatments, including:

  • The patient consultation process. This includes communicating the expected results of Botox treatments accurately, producing facial/head/neck markings, and injection/treatment techniques that align with patient goals
  • Key characteristics and handling (including dilution, reconstitution, and storage) of botulinum toxin Type-A products
  • Important facial anatomy concepts, including zones of adherence, facial contraindications, and correcting complications and adverse events

The color training manual also covers numerous Botox treatment types, highlighting dosage amounts, treatment indications, safe injection techniques, and more. These treatments include:

  • Forehead lines
  • Platysma banding
  • Gummy smile
  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive palms and underarms sweating)
  • Glabellar complex area
  • Marionette lines
  • Migraine
  • Lateral canthal rhytids
  • Medial and lateral brow (lift)
  • Bruxism
  • Dimpled chin

Additional Aesthetic Procedures and Advanced Injection Techniques

Those who participate in the full weekend training will broaden their cosmetic treatment repertoire. As well as our two main courses, Complete Botox® Training and Dermal Filler, they will gain practical experience and knowledge performing additional aesthetic procedures – including advanced injection techniques. Once you sign up for the Atlanta training course, you also receive complimentary access to EMT's entire library of Botox materials.

All three workshops that make up our program were created to match the policies and accreditation demands assigned by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. We have also partnered with Medical Education Resources, an outlet committed to cultivating the next aesthetics practitioners, who provide our Atlanta program with the maximum 8.0 AMA PRA Category I Credits™. Note: You should only claim these credits upon completing the hands-on training class.

The MER, via its association with the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation, is also accredited to deliver continued nursing education. By completing our course successfully, 8.0 contact hours can be added to your continued nursing education.

Medical Education Resources is a provider of continuing nursing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 12299.

How to Get Here

Are you traveling to The Westin Buckhead Atlanta from outside the state? If so, your journey will most likely go through the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The good news: the hotel is only 20 minutes away by car from the airport.

To ensure the journey is seamless, here's how to reach The Westin Buckhead Atlanta from the airport.

From Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

If driving isn't on the agenda, a one-way taxi fare will set you back approximately $40. You can also make use of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), a convenient and inexpensive method to get around the city – and journey to and from the airport.

If you decide to rent a vehicle, follow these driving directions when exiting the airport's Domestic Terminal:

  • Out of the Domestic Terminal, get onto Interstate 85 North
  • Continue on the I-85 North to Atlanta before exiting onto Georgia State Route 400 North
  • Lenox Road is the first exit. Take this and then turn right, following the signs that indicate Peachtree Road South
  • Take a right turn onto Peachtree Road
  • At the second traffic light, turn left. The Westin Buckhead is on your right

Getting around Atlanta

While you might enjoy the freedom of getting around by yourself in a car, the aforementioned MARTA system is a recommended alternative. It is a quick and easy option that costs as little as $2.50 for a single trip, and you can load up a MARTA Breeze card with as many trips or day passes as you need. These trains run until 1:00 am on weekends.

Atlanta places a heavy emphasis on public transport, which means getting around by train, bus, and streetcar is convenient and affordable. The streetcar makes a 2.7-mile loop, stopping at 12 different spots along the way, and offers direct connections to other services such as MARTA. They run every 10-15 minutes on average between 6:00 am to 11:00 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 am till 1:00 am on Saturdays. You can see their timetable on their website, but you should find it easy to get around using this mode of transport. Prices range from $1 to $3.

The Westin Buckhead also provides a complimentary hotel car service. In operation from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm, it will take you to any destination within a two-mile radius. Just keep in mind, this service is only available on a first-come, first-serve basis!

What to Do in Atlanta

Shopping, historical sites, exciting attractions, vibrant nightlife – there are many reasons why Atlanta is considered to be one of the best cities to visit and explore in the United States. After a day of training, make sure you take the opportunity to see the city.

Outdoor Activities and Attractions in Atlanta

If you are more the type of person that would rather explore nature than a shopping center, you're just a short journey away from various popular outdoor attractions. Here are some of our recommendations:

  • Atlanta Botanical Garden: With 30-acres of beautiful gardens to explore, the Atlanta Botanical Garden features everything from an authentic Japanese garden to a 40-foot high canopy walk footbridge.
  • Piedmont Park: With enticing waters, flourishing greenery, and energetic wildlife, Piedmont Park is a world away from the city's concrete metropolis.
  • Atlanta BeltLine: This multi-use path is one of the best ways to get around the city. A former railway corridor, the Atlanta BeltLine connects multiple neighborhoods together, where you can walk or ride the picturesque paths lined with native plants, art, and attractions.
  • Oakland Cemetery: While it might not seem like the most enticing destination at first, Atlanta's oldest public park features beautiful green spaces and rich local history.

Culture and Entertainment in Atlanta

Whether you want to take a step back in time or enjoy a live show, there are many culture and entertainment options in Atlanta. Below are just a few examples:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site: Doubling as a park and historical indoor attractions, you can explore Martin Luther King Jr's birth home and explore fascinating exhibits at the Martin Luther King Center for Nonviolent Social Change.
  • Fox Theatre: Home to comedy headliners, up-and-coming music acts, and Broadway shows, the Fox Theatre is the best place to catch a live performance in Fox Theatre.
  • Georgia Aquarium: In the western hemisphere's largest indoor aquarium, get lost for hours among the multiple habitats and exhibits, enjoying the dolphins, penguins, Beluga whales, and whale sharks.
  • Lenox Square: Positioned next to The Westin Buckhead, Lenox Square is one of the city's premier shopping destinations. Open since 1959, here you will find that there are over 250 stores and dining options available at Lenox Square.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History: Considered to be one of the most exciting and feature-packed museums in the state, Fernbank lets you venture back in time as you discover everything from ancient fossils to dinosaurs. The museum also features a 3D IMAX to take in a larger-than-life educational flick.
