This time we invite our fellow healthcare practitioners to the Complete Facial Aesthetic Workshop for physicians, nurses, aestheticians, and other healthcare professionals, a detailed and intensive training course in different aesthetic procedures such as Medical Grade Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, and Facial Rejuvenation in a 1-day training setting. Taking place at the Wyndham Phoenix Airport/Tempe, this specialty course is a great opportunity to network and expand your knowledge with our celebrity status and renowned instructors.

During the Complete Facial Aesthetic Workshop, attendees will receive training in the various protocols for the different types of acids used in Medical Grade Chemical Peels alongside guided instruction in performing Micropeels and cosmetic procedures with Microneedling (needle pen or dermal rollers).

Course Overview

An unsurpassed standard in the treatment of different skin conditions, Medical Grade Chemical Peels, from light to deep peels, keep producing the best results over and over, in multiple case scenarios. During their stay in Phoenix, and guided by Empire Medical experts, attendees will study the difference between medical grade cosmeceuticals, over-the-counter skin care products, and the popular “day spa” peel, while learning the various skin classifications in treating different patients according to their specific needs.

The first hours of the course will be focused on:

Skin Classifications:

  • Fitzpatrick Type
  • Lancer Ethnicity Scale
  • Burton Classification (Acne Grading)

Physiological Effects of Aging:

  • Facial bone loss
  • Ligament laxity
  • Fat Atrophy or migration
  • HA and Collagen Reduction

Categorization of Skin Aging:

  • Pigmented lesions
  • Vascularities
  • UV damage

The Complete Facial Aesthetic Workshop also covers the entirety of protocols for Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, and Facial Rejuvenation, all in one day, while the hands-on portion of the course revolves around MicroNeedling, and Medical Grade Chemical Peels (AHA and BHA Acids) in the treatment of:

  • Acne Scarring
  • Linear and Boxcar scars
  • Skin Laxity/UV damage
  • Decollete Rejuvenation
  • Stubborn static wrinkles (rhytids)

Course Objectives

  • Learn to safely perform and master all skin care resurfacing techniques based on patients’ skin classifications and conditions.
  • Expand your knowledge of different skin classifications that you will find in your aesthetic practice.
  • Learn the different active ingredients active in each type of peel and identify which patients can benefit from each one of the available peels.
  • Learn to safely combine microdermabrasion with specific peels or stand-alone treatment. Apply the latest techniques and protocols associated with micro needling including dermal rollers or the needle pen. Fully understand the mechanism of action, indications for use, and adverse events associated with the various protocols.
  • Learn to adopt cosmeceuticals as an alternative revenue for your aesthetic practice.
  • Explore the business side of facial aesthetics including pricing, packaging, and marketing for patients (inside or outside your practice)

Prerequisites

Advanced Facial Anatomy Cadaver Workshop is recommended for non-core attendees to avoid complications in aesthetic injections and procedures.

Course Agenda

  • 8:00am - 8:30am: Registration
  • 8:30am - 9:45am: Instructor Introduction
    Overview of skin classifications: Fitzpatrick Type, Lancer Ethnicity Scale, Burton Classification (Acne Grading).
    Skin Anatomy and the Physiological Effects of Aging (facial bone loss, ligament laxity, fat atrophy or migration, HA, and Collagen Reduction).
  • 9:45am - 10:45am: Identification and Categorization of Skin Aging: pigmented lesions, vascularities, and UV damage for various treatment options.
    Microneedling (Vista Pen™) protocols for facial areas, décolleté, and other indications for use.
    Size/indication charting for microneedling and combination therapies utilizing growth factors (biologics), chemical peels, lasers, injectables, and stand-alone applications.
  • 10:45am - 11:00am: Break
  • 11:00am - 12:00pm: Microdermabrasion (crystal-based, diamond tip systems, and hydrafacial): indications for use, marketing strategies, and combination therapies with medical-grade chemical peels.
    Microdermabrasion techniques and protocols, as well as after-care instructions and the use of cosmeceuticals for post-treatment.
  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch (on your own)
  • 1:00pm - 2:30pm: Introduction to Medical Grade Chemical Peels (Alpha Hydroxy, Beta Hydroxy, and Caustic Acids including alternatives).
    Differences between medical-grade and salon peels, indications for use, metabolic activity, and patient expectations using the various peels, including combination treatments with microdermabrasion (micro-peel).
    Superficial exfoliation products, medium depth peels, and newer self-neutralizing peels (all Fitzpatrick types & newer acne peels) are discussed in detail, including all protocols, contraindications, adverse events, and post-treatment considerations.
  • 2:30pm - 2:45pm: Break
  • 2:45pm - 3:15pm: Retail opportunities for acne, microdermabrasion, and physician-only skincare products, including key active ingredients and skincare cosmeceutical systems (i.e., cleanse, tone, exfoliate, and protect).
    Marketing and sales strategies for successful implementation of these new products, including supplemental products such as masks, growth factors, and specialty growth factors and peptide products.
  • 3:15pm - 4:30pm: Break
  • 3:45pm - 4:30pm: Questions & Answers
    Hands-On Training in Microneedling and Medical Grade Chemical Peels (AHA and BHA Acids only).
    Protocols and Post Procedure options are reaffirmed and include many of the ancillary products discussed throughout the course (i.e., cosmeceuticals).
